New Community Impact Report

Each year we aim to produce an Annual Community Report, to showcase the amazing projects, organizations, and community connections we’ve participated in the past year.

We are excited to share our 2023 Annual Community Report with you. You will see stories about our partnerships and initiatives, and our impact in the region.

  • $1.5m+ total grants distributed in 2023

  • $103,000 awarded in bursaries & scholarships

  • $1.4m received in donations

The Community Foundation North Okanagan was created in 1975 as a 360-degree granter to support the growing number of charitable groups doing valuable work in our region.

Today we are one of Canada’s two hundred + community foundations dedicated to improving community vitality through Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Health & Recreation, and Social Services. We are catalysts in the charitable sector – connecting donors who care with causes that matter.

Just as we did in 1975, we pool charitable gifts from donors to create granting opportunities. The investment of endowment funds generates a perpetual source of income from which to grant. Alongside this core activity, we have embraced new ideas and new methods of expanding our positive social impact.

Community Foundations exist to build community capacity through the stewardship of donor resources, innovative grant making, and bold community leadership. Our total assets have grown to over $19.5 million dollars. In 2023, we provided 362 grants totalling over $1.5 million. Since our inception, the Community Foundation has granted over $13.5 million to charities working to make our region a better.
